Pretty much final design
I changed the headlight for something more vintage, replace fork rubber covers with smaller ones and removed the front fender but will probably add it back (maybe painted in black) in case I catch rain while riding.I still need to solder half a circle to the back of the frame near the seat end to properly attach the rear fender. I will probably change the seat cover if not the entire seat but haven't just yet figured exactly the shape I want.
Will ride this summer and if the bike doesn't fall apart will put it back into pieces and powder coat the frame, paint the engine and other parts and simplify the electrics this fall-winter.

Almost done !
I went for a 10km test drive today.. works great but the pipe is just too noisy. This won't work, I need to find a way to reduce the db's.
Just waiting for rear lamp still. Then I will start with painting the plastics, tank etc finishing off with frame and engine.
Here's a pic of latest status.

A couple months later...
Ok, finally made some progress. Given I ruined the original frame, I got myself a second hand one for about 200 euros.
I learned my lesson.... got the welding done by a professional this time around (which turns out to be a neighbour so I even got it for free).
Those past weeks I got everything mounted on the second frame to test out and make sure everything will fit fine before the painting of frame, engine, tank....
I still need to fine tune a few things like the electrics (simplify) shorten the seat and built rear fender.
This is what it looks like now
