Welding a frame with Arc is not a trivial thing and what I thought would be a breeze turns into a nightmare. While one side went pretty ok the other was a disaster and I'm still not done with it. Once you start to have holes in the frame it gets very difficult not to make them bigger when trying to fill them up...
Will post detailed pics once finished

Wheels !
I finally have my wheels ready. I will have to work on the fuel tank, moving the petrol tap a bit forward. I'm a novice in soldering so I will do some training on a old fuel tank.
After that the big chunck of work on the back of the frame will begin.. scary...

Work started !
I've been a all time fan of modern and vintage dirt bikes. I do own a YZ426F that I ride on MX tracks but needed something original to cruise on the streets for the hot summer days.
It's been a while I was looking for a custom retro scrambler-flat track looking bike but didn't really come across anything outstanding until I saw this (http://nx650elsinore.blogspot.com/), I fell in love with his first version (except for that huge headlight) and bought a 2nd hand dominator 2 weeks later for a bit more than 1000 euros and less than 30000km The same day I started the customization by removing all the existing plastics, fuel tank etc.
Today I'm supposed to pick my second hand 19' (SLR 650) front wheel and second hand 17' dominator rear wheel powder coated black matte.
I have the Conti TKC80 tires already though the front size that backtracker has mounted on his dominator don't seem to be available in France, so I got myself a 110x80x19 instead of the 120x90x19
I just received the DC plastics side panels and vintage honda stickers yesterday from the US roughly a week after ordering ( about 80 euros though with shipping)
I also got myself a Harley Bates style headlamp from ebay for about 50 euros and a 125 CG 78-84 fuel tank in new condition for under 50 euros !
I also ordered a ready made flat track style seat in the UK as I didn't feel like doing this on my own.
Still need to order the down swept pipe from Jamco in the US but the guy is not very reactive and leadtime is 4-6 weeks for about 400 euros but that is certainly worth it.
